It is all about engagement!

Image
Here is some practical advice that I personally benefit from on how to engage with visitors on a blog. When I use these tips and strategies, I find that my blogs are engaging with my readers and that it creates a connection between myself and the reader. Blog engagement refers to “the level of interaction between a reader and the creator of a blog”. It can include aspects such as comments, likes, reactions, shares and more. This can include positive and negative performance from the blog itself and how the reader felt about the blog.   1.   Clear and visually appealing design The first piece of practical advice is the most obvious in my opinion, making the blog clear and visually appealing is the key to a successful read. A reader doesn’t want to click into a blog and just be bogged down with hundreds of words on a plain page. The blogger needs to create a visually appealing layout for readers to have a clear understanding of the blog. Making titles stand out and in ...

Potential Ethical and Social Challenges of Big Data

Image
Hello fellow bloggers, Sophie here again! Today  I will discuss three Ethical and Social Challenges of Big Data which I feel are important with the usage of Big Data and how it affects consumers and companies:   The lack of experienced Professionals: The first ethical and social challenge that I will discuss is how companies fail with their Big Data by lacking inexperienced workers to run their IT systems and large data implements. Occupations for these include data analysts, engineers and data scientists that trade with the technology and have a deep understanding in huge data equipment. Companies struggle to employ workers in this industry as data handling equipment has evolved swiftly even though the professions have not evolved as swiftly. To address these challenges, companies are contributing extra money into recruiting more professionals in the Big Data industry by investing into training courses to contribute to employees in better knowledge. Companies could also...

Good morning my fellow bloggers, its Sophie once again. These are examples of companies that used Enterprise Applications successfully to support their business strategy and business model : 1.      Amazon  Amazon is an American multinational technology company and their business model is dependent on e-commerce and technology as they use a logistic system where big or small companies and enterprises can sell their products at fixed rates.  Amazon use an ERP system called Systems Analysis and Programme development (SAP) which was created in Germany by five former past IBM employees (Bischoff 2023).  The ERP system helps benefit the industry by : Inventory management providing the levels of inventory levels up-to-date to prevent stockouts or overselling from occurring. Why companies often struggle with Information Systems implementation

Image
Welcome back fellow bloggers, its your favourite blogger Sophie back again. This week we will look at an interesting topic. Many companies often struggle with Information Systems implementations and often look into new trends in technology to keep relevant and competitive and there are numerous reasons why they might face challenges during this process. Training employees can be time-consuming If companies spend weeks training employees on how to use Information Systems, employees cannot focus on their full-time career leading to loss in productivity from staff which causes low morale amongst the company putting it at risk. Even though training is time consuming, it is important to cover as the lack of training with employees can lead to errors and inabilities (Sharp, 2021).  Resistance to change Individuals usually resist to change and like to stick to the same strategies and with the change of installing new Information Systems it can cause complexity within workflows. They may r...
