Introduction - Who am I

Hello everyone, I will start off this exciting blog by introducing myself as we all know that we want to know more about who we are reading about. Let's get into it...hope you all enjoy this!

 My name is Sophie Connolly, I am a fourth year student in the Bachelor of Business course and I have specialized in Marketing at South-East Technological University Waterford in my final year of my degree. I am from New Ross County Wexford and I commute up and down to college daily.  In the second semester of third year, I completed my flexible semester of Teaching Placement in a primary school called ‘Catherine McAuley junior school’ three days a week for 12 weeks from February to May and it was a challenging time for me as I had to teach the class for fifteen minutes a day but by the end of the twelve weeks, I really enjoyed it and I was sad to leave on the last day. It was an amazing experience to do and it has given me a great insight into my future career.

Information systems have effected me In relation to work experience due to completing it in two industries and one of my experiences was in a boutique/salon called 'Town and Country' Mercantile which offers women's fashion and beauty products and treatments in my local town of New Ross and the salon offered a lot of use of technology such as using cash registers and tills, the telephones used on each of the three floor departments for staff to contact one another instantly and also the use of online bookings which would be easily accessed by staff to see what customers were booked in for each day. During my time I would assist the staff in stock taking by scanning the barcodes on new and old stock being received or sold. Customers can also purchase on the online website which can avoid them physically visiting the store which is convenient and quick for most people in todays modern world.
